Admission Requirements & Cut-Off Points for UDS 2025/2026 Admissions

General Admission Requirements for Undergraduate Programmes (WASSCE/SSSCE Holders):

  • WASSCE Holders: Applicants must have at least C6 in all three (3) Core Subjects (English Language, Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science or Social Studies) and at least C6 in all three (3) Elective Subjects relevant to the chosen program.
  • SSSCE Holders: Applicants must have at least D in all three (3) Core Subjects (English Language, Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science or Social Studies) and at least D in all three (3) Elective Subjects relevant to the chosen program.
  • Aggregate Score: The aggregate score of the best six subjects (three core and three electives) must not exceed 36. However, admission is competitive, and some programs may have lower internal cut-offs.
  • Arts and Business Students: For candidates with Arts and Business subjects, a better grade in Social Studies may be used in place of Integrated Science for aggregate calculation, provided there’s at least a pass in Integrated Science.

Other Entry Modes:

  • HND and other Diploma Holders (Top-Up):
    • Candidates must have a relevant HND or Diploma from a recognized institution.
    • They may be required to pass a selection interview conducted by the University (e.g., interviews for 2020 admissions were in June).
    • For health-related top-up programs (e.g., 3-Year BSc Nurse Practitioner, 2/3-Year BSc Nursing), applicants must be Registered Nurses/Midwives with a Diploma and a minimum of two to three years of post-registration working experience. They must also be in good standing with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana (N&MC) and be eligible for study leave.
    • Top-up applicants might be admitted as fee-paying students.
  • Mature Applicants:
    • Must be 25 years or above by Friday, July 4, 2025 (proof of age like a birth certificate or Ghana Card, at least 5 years old at the time of application, is required).
