CSSPS Portal now Live: Check Your SHS/TVET Placement Now

By | July 21, 2025

The Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) is the official platform used by the Ghana Education Service (GES) to place qualified BECE candidates into Senior High Schools (SHS), Technical, and Vocational Institutes. The CSSPS Portal for 2025 SHS placement will be live on the 17th of September 2025.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to use the Computerized School Selection and Placement System portal, how to check your placement, and what to do if you need to change schools or face placement issues.

What is the CSSPS Portal?

The CSSPS portal is an online platform developed by GES to automate the placement of students into second-cycle institutions based on their BECE results and choices made. Official Website: https://cssps.gov.gh.

How the CSSPS Placement Works

Placement is based on:

  • Raw scores and aggregate from BECE
  • Choices made by the student during registration
  • Available vacancies in selected schools
  • Gender, disability status, and catchment area

How to Check Your 2025 BECE School Placement

Follow these steps:

  1. Visit the CSSPS placement checker portal: https://www.cssps.gov.gh
  2. Click on “Check Placement”.
  3. Enter your BECE Index Number (e.g. 0101010101).
  4. Add the year of examination (e.g. 2025), so it reads 010101010125.
  5. Input your eVoucher PIN and Serial Number.
  6. Click “Submit” to view your placement.

What information will I find on my placement slip?

Your CSSPS placement slip will typically show:

  • Your name and BECE index number
  • The Senior High School or TVET institution you’ve been placed in
  • The program of study (e.g., General Science, General Arts, Business, Home Economics, Technical programs)
  • Your residential status (Day or Boarding)
  • The re-opening date for the school
  • Your aggregate score from the BECE

What is “Automatic Placement” and “Self-Placement”?

  • Automatic Placement: This is the initial placement process where the CSSPS system automatically places candidates into one of their chosen schools based on their BECE performance (raw scores and aggregates), the choices they made, and available vacancies.
  • Self-Placement: If a candidate is not automatically placed in any of their chosen schools, they are given the opportunity to do “Self-Placement.” This allows them to log back into the CSSPS portal and select from a list of schools that still have available vacancies.
