If you are a graduate awaiting your deployment, here’s your go‐to guide for the 2025/2026 national service posting by the National Service Authority (NSA/National Service Secretariat). Read on to find when NSS postings were released, how to check yours, and what you must do next
When will the 2025 NSS Posting be released?
On 28 October 2025, the NSA released its first batch of postings for the 2025/2026 service year, deploying 85,159 graduates from accredited tertiary institutions across Ghana. This number excludes categories with data mismatches (teachers, nurses, midwives) whose placements will follow in subsequent rounds. The service year officially begins on Monday, 3 November 2025. A new digital platform has been introduced to streamline registration, verification and postings.
How do I check my NSS posting/placement?
- Go to the Official Portal: Log onto the National Service Authority’s official website, typically gnsa.gov.gh or the designated student portal.
- Sign In: Enter your Index Number and Date of Birth (and/or PIN Code) to access your dashboard and check your placement.
What are the immediate steps after checking my posting?
The process is generally a sequence of four mandatory steps:
- Print Your Appointment Letter: Print a copy of the letter from the portal.
- Get Endorsement: Take the printed appointment letter to the User Agency (the organization you’ve been posted to) for official signing and stamping by the Head of the Organisation or HR Director.
- Book Online Appointment: Return to the NSS website to book an online appointment for your regional validation and registration. You will select a date and time.
- Complete Validation: Proceed to the assigned Regional Validation and Registration Centre on your booked date with the endorsed appointment letter and a valid Ghana Card (or approved ID) to complete the final registration.
What documents do I need for the final registration/validation?
You must take your:
- Endorsed Appointment Letter (Signed and stamped by the User Agency).
- Valid Ghana Card (or other approved ID for verification).
What if my details (Name, DOB) don’t match my Ghana Card?
This is a data mismatch issue. The NSA typically advises:
- Affidavit & Gazette: If the error is on your institution’s submission, you may need to swear an affidavit, have it gazetted, and submit the corrected details to your school for official forwarding to the NSS.
- Report to Institution: If the institution made an error, you must report the mistake to them so they can officially communicate the accurate details to the NSS.
Can I change or repost my placement?
- The National Service Authority strongly advises against reposting and often states that reposting is generally not allowed.
- All personnel are encouraged to accept their assigned placements as part of their contribution to national development. Attempts to engage middlemen to alter postings are typically discouraged due to risks of fraud.
