Are the list of List of New MMDCEs out? As President John Mahama begins his new term, one of the key developments is the appointment of new Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs). However, in a surprise move, President Mahama has revoked the appointments of all MMDCEs, paving the way for new appointments.
Revocation of Previous Appointments
In accordance with the Local Government Act, 2016 (Act 936), President Mahama has directed all coordinating officials to take over the responsibilities of MMDCEs until new appointments are made This move is expected to bring significant changes to local governance.
List of New MMDCEs appointed by John Mahama 2025
Ghana has a total of 260 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs), which means we’ll have 260 MMDCEs. While the list of new MMDCEs has not been officially released, it’s anticipated that President Mahama will make announcements soon.
