The University of Ghana (UG) typically sends undergraduate admission notifications between the application portal’s closure and the day before Matriculation. This is usually between March and June for the academic year that begins in August or September. How to Apply for University of Ghana Admission
For Ghanaian Applicants with West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination(WASSCE) qualification and Ghanaians with foreign backgrounds should follow the steps below;
Step 1: Purchase an E-voucher
Ways of purchasing E-voucher
- Through Local Banks
The University of Ghana (UG) application processing fee is non-refundable and costs US\$110. Ghanaian applicants can purchase an online application E-VOUCHER for GH¢220 at the following banks:
- Ecobank
- Republic Bank
- Agricultural Development Bank
- GCB Bank
- Zenith Bank
- Universal Merchant Bank
- Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG)
- Prudential Bank
- First Atlantic Bank
- Fidelity Bank
International applicants and Ghanaians abroad must pay a non-refundable application processing fee of US\$55.

- Dial *887*9# on all networks
- Enter UG
- Authorise Payment
- User receives e-voucher via SMS after successful payment.
In a situation where the user does not receive an SMS after a period of successfully completing the transaction, they can retrieve the e-voucher using the following steps:
- Dial *887*9# on all networks
- Select “Yes”
- Select “Retrieve E-Voucher”
- The details of the E-Voucher are displayed (ie University of Ghana, Serial Number, and PIN)
Step 2: Go to the official UG admissions portal: https://apply.ug.edu.gh/admissions/undergrad/login
Step 3: Use the serial number and PIN from your e-voucher to log in to your account.
Step 4: Complete the online application form with accurate personal and academic information.
Step 5: Scan and upload necessary documents like academic transcripts, certificates, and passport photos.
Step 6: Carefully review your application and submit it once you’re satisfied.
When will UG admission start and ends?
The application deadline for the 2025 University of Ghana forms is not yet announced, thus below are the previous year admission deadlines:
- Undergraduate: Applications are open until WASSCE results are released.
- Diploma to Degree: The application closing date is July 31, 2024.
- Graduate (Regular): The application closing date is June 28, 2024.
- Graduate (Sandwich): The application closing date is February 28, 2024.
- Certificate English Proficiency: The application closing date is October 31, 2024.
- Post First Degree LLB: The application closing date is May 31, 2024.
- Mature Students Access Course (2nd Batch): The application closing date is July 8, 2024.
