University of Mines and Technology (UMat) Undergraduate Application
To apply to the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), purchase an application voucher, and then use the voucher code to complete the online application form on the UMaT Admission Portal. Make sure to accurately fill in all required sections, such as personal information, academic history, and program of choice. After submitting, track your application status online.
How To Apply For Admission
- Purchase voucher: Buy an application voucher from designated banks or online through the UMaT payment portal.
- Log in: Go to the UMaT Admission Portal and use your voucher code to log in and start your application.
- Complete the application: Fill in your personal, contact, and parent/guardian information, along with your academic history and chosen programs. Be sure to upload a clear passport photo.
- Verify and submit: Go to the data verification page to check that all the information is correct, then click “Submit”.
- Receive application code: An application code will be generated after submission. Keep this code for future reference and to check your application status.
- Track your application: Log in to the portal anytime to check the status of your application and view the admission results.

Visit: portal.umat.edu.gh/payment
Click “Make Payment.”
Choose “Application Voucher” from the list of items.
Select your preferred application voucher.
Choose your preferred payment option.
Fill in the requested details, click “Next” and then “Proceed”.
A payment confirmation page will appear. Review the details carefully.
Click “Pay Now” to confirm.
Confirm payment on your phone by entering your MoMo PIN.
You will receive a success message and SMS confirmation for a successful payment.

How much is the UMaT admission form?
The price for the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) admission form depends on the program and applicant status. For Ghanaian applicants, the cost is GH¢230 for BSc, GH¢200 for Diploma, and GH¢180 for Certificate programs. For international applicants, the cost is US$100 for BSc, US$85 for Diploma, and US$75 for Certificate programs.
What is the cut-off grade for UMaT?
UMaT uses the new grading system of WASSCE for the selection of candidates, and in this system, a grade aggregate of 36 is the minimum entry requirement at UMaT.
